Governor General visits the Annotto Bay Hospital

The Annotto Bay Hospital can now proudly boast that they are the only hospital in the island that has a combination Infant Incubator and Ventilator. On May 12, 2011, the Issa Trust Foundation under the distinguished patronage of the  Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen and the Most Honourable Lady Allen, donated some US$100,000.00 worth of well needed medical equipment to the Annotto Bay Hospital.

A grand ceremony was held on the front lawn of the hospital grounds and an excited team welcomed Their Excellencies, to the hospital.  Their Excellencies were given a grand tour of the Paediatric ward by Dr. Ray Fraser, Senior Medical Officer.   Their Excellencies,  the first of that high office to visit the hospital in the last 25 years were met with warmth and exuberance by the staff , business community and eager patrons. Other items donated include ; Vital Sign Monitors with Accessory Kits, Infusion Pump Sets, Neonate Blood Pressure Cuff Kits, a Suction Machine with Accessory Kit. This donation signifies a triumphant end to hospital staff using unconventional methods to care for infants.

The Governor General in his speech praised the Issa Trust Foundation for their overwhelming support to the hospital. Mrs. Dianne Pollard, President and CEO of the Issa Trust Foundation officially presented the items to Dr. Iyer Ramos, Paediatrician at the Annotto Bay Hospital with the unveiling of the Infant Incubator. After the ceremony their was food,  fun and entertainment and patrons were able to view the new Infant Incubator.
