The North East Regional Health Authority (NERHA), a statutory body under the Ministry of Health with responsibility for the management and delivery of health care and public health services within the parishes of St. Ann , St. Mary and Portland is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to immediately fill existing vacancies for Dental Nurses throughout the Region.

The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum qualifications:

Graduation from an approved institution as a Dental Nurse

Registered with the Dental Council of Jamaica

First Aid Certificate

Job Summary:

Instructs children, teachers, organizations, community health committees, parent teachers associations and other similar bodies in oral health care, assists them in maintaining proper dental health habits.

Carries out routine examinations; prepare treatment plan; submits selected treatment plans for review by clinics dentist; implements treatment plan as required

Evaluates periodontal health, performs prophylaxis which includes scaling, cleaning and polishing teeth to remove tartar and other deposits.
